This is the start of my journey towards my orthodontic profession once I graduate highschool.

Braces shaped my Confidence

My first visit to the orthodontist felt confusing. As a kid, I had always felt my smile was perfect; however, as I grew up and started middle school I realized braces were almost ESSENTIAL for appearances in the suburbs. It took a long period of time to get adjusted to my new braces. I felt a mix of excitement and discomfort, but I after a few months I'd gotten used to them and never wanted to take them off!

Trial and Error

Although wearing braces helped me find courage navigating throughout middle school and early highschool, I still needed to use other strategies for finding my voice, making new friends, and combating social anxiety (that was the difficult part). Over time I overcame most of these struggles, yet I have much to learn and many opportunities to seize.

Aspirations

My goal for my future health care occupation, Orthodontistry, will be to strenghten the confidence of my patients through their beautiful smiles. Recently experiencing my braces removal has reinforced my resilence and self-confidence. This decision has led me to focus on a clear plan that can lead me to my future profession...

Orthodontics!

Dear, Orthodontics

I imagined the name "dear, ortho" as a calling to myself and a blog to look back on in the future. I hold this goal close and will care for it deeply. This will be a VERY long mission but I am willing to keep my persistent determination and reach across every obstacle.
